Picky Eater

Ok ya all.... I need some help.

Ryan's decided that it's all good that he continues to just eat #2 & 3 baby foods and formula for the rest of his life. He makes gaggy faces with some #3 foods and any table food we give him. I'm working on the formula wean.... 1 oz of milk, 7 oz formula..... and adding an oz of milk/decreasing 1 oz of formula each day..... he hates O's, veggie/fruit puffs, mac/cheese, bread, etc. As for using a sippy cup.... forgeddabouttit..... that goes right on the floor.

I'm still going to keep pushing on this and giving him foods and weaning the formula; working with sippy's and utensils. I'm just wondering if there are any tricks I could use to help this ANNOYING process along.

Yep....Ry-ry's my lazy child!

Mine have always been really good eaters until I start leaving them with dad and he tells them something is icky. Like tomatoes.

No seriouslly - Kate will eat/try anything. Alysaa is very picky but it didn't start with her til she was like 2 - so no real advice.

My son was just like Ryan and his middle name is Ryan, LOL

He never and I mean never ate stage 3 foods he would puke it up if I offered it. He loves/loved stage 1 and 2. He was 3 years old before he ate regular table type foods. I started by getting the kids cuisines and allowing him to help make the food. I offered ranch, ketchup, honey mustard as dipping sauces for everything. He's now 5 and will try almost anything. I'm not sure what will work for you but the dipping and making a deal with him that if I allow him to help make it he has to try it.

I know Ryan is little but I think he's already trying to manipulate you and you can him too....

Isaiah is the same way and he's18 months. He doesn't eat much at all and I try to offer him everything. He just recently started liking Mac n Cheese! Otherwise he'll eat bread, pasta and banana/strawberry number 3 foods.

ALL my kids went through that at about a yr old. Ok, well.. Logan didn't, but it had to be on the floor at least five minutes before he would eat it. ( yes I know my kids are.. odd). BUT, at about a yr old my kids decided just to not eat anything but maybe the one thing that was their favorite. I took them to the doctors, I worried.. nothing worked. They ate when they got hungry enough to eat what I was feeding them. Good luck it is nerve wracking.
