Has anyone here gone through an HSG? I am having to schedule one and want to know more experiences with it.

I haven't, I just wanted to send you For the procedure.

Yes, I have. It wasn't the most comforatble thing, but tolerable.

It starts like a usual "exam" and dye is administered to check the flow in your tubes to make sure they aren't blocked. My OB did the procedure in the XRay dept.

Your OB's office should be able to give you more detail. Hopefully there has been some improvements in the last 4-6 years or so.

Good luck.

I have had 2.
They are not bad at all. Slight cramping afterwards, but nothing I couldn't handle. If I remember correctly, I had to take Aleeve before the procedure. Like Kimmer, mine was done 6 years ago, about 6 months apart. My tubes were clear, but then I had an ectopic pregnancy and my RE wanted to do another one to make sure that the tube wasn't blocked from the surgery. (Mine were clear both times.)
Didn't matter though, I had another ectopic pregnancy in the other tube and went with IVF after that. You don't need fallopian tubes for IVF!

Oh yeah, mine was done in the X-Ray department also.
I have a wonderful RE that I was/am comfortable with, so maybe that had something to do with it not being a big deal.

I like my doctor, she is good.

All the research and what I have been told, matches what you all have noted.

I am schedules for next Friday morning.

Good luck Nikki.

I also had one done and had the same good experience that Heather had.

I had one, too. I agree with the others. It was tolerable. Just some slight cramping afterwards but taking Ibuprofen an hour before the procedure helped lessen the cramps afterwards (and taking one after you get home should help too).

I thought it hurt, but it was not unbearable. The pain was more like pressure, and it only lasted for a few seconds, at most. Afterwards, I had cramping, but it wasn't terrible. I hope it goes well for you.
