Well, I guess we have to tell everybody.

Providing everything goes OK at the doctor today, I think DH wants to tell his parents this weekend. I'd just as soon wait until they come to visit in June and have to explain all the baby stuff in their bedroom... But if we have to tell them, I'm trying to think of creative ways to do it. DH said to look at it this way... It gives his mom extra time to buy stuff. LOL!

When we found out with Jonathan, it was a few days before Mother's Day. So, we just signed her card from Bob, Dina, Morris (the cat), and Baby Nolan.

This time I'm not too sure. I thought about getting Jonathan a shirt that says "Big Brother" on it, taking a picture, and sending it to them. But, since we'll actually be seeing them, we will have to do something else.

Any ideas?

Will you be getting an ultrasound today? I know that I had a transvaginal one at 7 weeks. You could just show them the U/S pics.

or you can do a themed dinner while they are there and have baby carrots, baby corn, baby potatoes, etc....followed by some movies.....or movie suggestions.....such as 3 men and a baby, we're having a baby....etc...

Not that I know of, but I could be wrong. When I was pregnant with Jonathan, Dr. Day had just started his practice and they didn't have an ultrasound machine. They sent me to the hospital for them. the insurance only pays for one at 20 weeks unless there's a problem. I had one at 12 weeks because they couldn't find the heartbeat. Then one at 30 because the lady who did the one at 20 just flat out sucked! I'm not sure if they have one in the office now or not. I guess I'll find out.

How about getting the Big Brother shirt and letting your son wear it when they arrive? Maybe you can have one of those Mommy to Be shirts on as well and your husband can join in with a shirt of his own. Should be easy to make if you have some white t-shirts around the house and paint or markers.

ooh I'm hoping you get one now. It was so cool to get one so early. I got the other one at 20 weeks.

Well, the problem we have is that they're not coming here and we're not going there. We're meeting in the middle at a hotel somewhere, so we can't really plan a special dinner or have Jonathan come out wearing a shirt or anything. There are plenty of things I could think of if it were a holiday or something. If their room is next to ours in the hotel, they'll probably hear the so that should be a pretty good clue.

Are you spending more than one day with them? Then you could have Jonathan come out the next day wearing the t-shirt. Could you talk to where ever you are staying and see if they could do a special meal for you guys? Or maybe they have an idea of something you could do?

If I didn't feel like I wanted to tell them right now, I wouldn't.

I still think it'd be neat to have your son wearing a shirt and see how long it takes them to figure it out. If that's when you want to tell them. Mother's Day isn't that far away if you wanted to wait and do something then. But wouldn't that be cheating Grandpa?

i like the idea of having Jonathan tell them somehow.

I hope your appointment went well!
