We have been slowly talking to Austin about the differences between boys and girls. We talk about the male and female anatomy and so forth. Austin knows the whole penis and vagina thing.
Well he has been coming home from school and asking funny questions.
Things like 'how do girls pee? I know they have a little slit in the front' and something like 'Mom what is a girls twinkie'
I ask him where he gets this from, and he's telling me that there is a boy at school named Ryan that is telling him this stuff.
I DO NOT LIKE IT.
Where is this child getting these things, why is he talking about them at the age of 6, and why aren't his parents teaching him the correct terms?!?!
My question is, is there anything I should/could do about it?
Should I call the school, or write a note to the teacher?
Or is this just something that comes along with school and childhood???

Not only did it cause questions I wasn't ready for from a 5 year old but in my oppinion was sexual harrassment. I didn't blame the child though, he also was only 5, but where did he get that from? I did go to the teacher with it and she said that without hearing it herself can't do anything but that she would keep an eye out for inappropriate behavior.

OMG that is a good one, their hostess cakes.

I do think the teacher should be made aware of it incase someone comes to her and asks something, or another parent hears about it.
For some reason Jerm doesn't think the kids should know the proper names of their parts...don't ask me why, he just said they don't need to be saying them, or whatever
I think they should at least know the names, even if they usually call them something else.
