If you could redo your livingroom...

What colors/style would you go with?

Since I have nothing for my livingroom yet, I've been thinking about how I would do it if I could get anything I wanted.

I think I would choose greens, really light browns, and oak... maybe little bits of red thrown in too (just don't want it to look Christmassy). Whatever I end up with, a few nice houseplants and candles will definitely be included. I can afford those.

Our stuff is mainly dark red which I like. I would just get another sofa, because this futon of our is a mess. It was fine, but dd jumped on it and broke it.

There are some kind of beigy leather couches that I want. I don't know when or if I'll ever get them though. I definitely need to have red accents though, because both my dining room and foyer (which are the two rooms that border my living room) have red in them. Maybe a sage green for the wall color....

Well, at this point, it's futile because of the 5 year old destroyer, but....

I've always been a fan of blues and country colors, but I'm really starting to like more greens and tans now. We repainted our living room a light (almost not there) sage color last year. It still looks white until you turn the lights down and then it's like "ahhh... it's green..." I'd really like to have more storage for the VCR, DVD, Cable box, etc. Something built-in. It would save so much floor space. And we have a hideous fireplace/hearth/mantle. I'd like to camoflauge that. I'm not real sure with furniture. I haven't really looked lately. ( Except I want my own recliner! )

I have one accent wall that is a reddish brown and the other walls are creamy yellow. Light and dark purple accents using flowers and off white or cream candles it looks very nice.

Oh yeah, I'd like to paint my fireplace bricks and get rid of the tacky brass fire screen.
