Kindergarten registration

I was just curious about this:

For parents who have already registered their kids for Kindergarten, what information did they ask you to bring with you?

Our local schools this year asked for birth certificate, Social Security card (if they have one), a bill to show residency, a information form that they provide, and a $50 registration fee.

This is for public school. I didn't know public schools required a registration fee. I'd never heard that before. That ticked me off a little. Aren't my taxes paying for this already?

We won't be registering him until we get moved. I just wondered what everyone else's school districts required.

Registration fee for public school, are you kidding? That's what I pay for Rach right now, but I homeschool and this school keeps her transcripts for me.

Yeah, I'd never heard that before. I couldn't believe it. We didn't pay that much for private school when we registered him there.

I just looked it up there's a $45 fee here.

That's ridiculous. It's not a state mandate in Ohio, and I've never heard of the schools here doing that. When I registered Henry for this year, we needed his birth certificate, social security card, immunization record and the school questionnaire.

I forgot about the immunization records. They wanted those,as well.

It must be Middletown. I think they're just mad that they didn't get their last bond issue. Of course, if they'd done what they said they would with the LAST one, they might have gotten this one.

birth certificate, shot records, forms they provided. And that has been every district we have been in... I haven't ever had to pay a registration fee for public school and don't know anyone who has either.

At the bottom is something about fees. They've removed the thing about registration fees for Kindergarten.

For Alyssa I just had to have her immunization record updated (she needed it for preschool so it was already on record) and the school questioaires (like what you plan on helping with) and her tuition - but she goes to private school. I've never had to provide her birth cerificate or any proof of age.

Shot records, birth certificates, baptismal certificates, social security cards, and check for the $315 registration fee.

We will have to pay the registration fee every year, but that is set by the Archdiocese of New Orleans for all Catholic schools. There is no getting out of paying it.
I don't know if public schools have registration fees or not in my area.
