I'm reading Whitethorn Woods by Maeve Binchy. It's not one of her best, but it's definitely better than her last book.

I've read a couple of her books. I liked the stories, but after the second or third it seemed like the theme was always "Men are pigs, a strong woman is better off without them." Agree? Disagree? Should I give her another shot?

Hanibal (great)
Wild Fire by Nelson DeMille (great)
Jame's Patterson's new book (I forget the name now but it's good and I'm only about half through with this one)
Next in line is the Memory Keepers Daughter.

Liz, that's too funny, because the new Sophie Kinsella book is next for me!

Nothing right now... I just finished The Face by Koontz. I was looking for something to do today... thank you for reminding me I can go to the library!

No I haven't, swapping would be perfect! PM me your Omaha address, I don't think I have that one.

Hey, and after the swap and y'all read them, send 'em on to me.

I think you've got her confused with someone else. Maeve Binchy wrote Circle of Friends, The Lilac Bus, and The Scarlet Feather, which was an Oprah Book Club selection. I wouldn't describe any of those as "men are pig" books.

I've given up on the Shopaholic books. I thought the first two were funny, but by the third book I just wanted to slap her for being an idiot.

Nope. I've read Tara Road, The Scarlet Feather, and Circle of Friends. She is a wonderful story teller and I really felt like I knew the characters, but they all have bad relationships with men who cheat. I guess I'm idealistic, but those kind of stories depress me.
