Sizing for pet taxis/carriers

Is there a rule of thumb for how large of a carrier you need? We have one, and it's fine for the smaller cat, but Dusty almost fills the thing up. For a long distance trip, I think we might need a larger one.

Any tips?

How big is he? My 25 lb cat actually has a small dog carrier.

I like this one because you can open the top if you need to get him out and he doesn't want to come out..or drop him in if he doesn't want to go in. You could put a light blanket over it to keep it dark for him which I would recommend.

I'd pick the bigger size. http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...N=2033663&Ne=2

The one I have looks like the second from the bottom on this list. It's a good size carrier but it's good for long trips.

I have always loved big cats. I have two small cat carriers and they are fine for small cats, but my big cats are kind of cramped. I like to use a small dog carrier, that way he can turn around and move a little bit. Also, he can stand if he wants. In the smaller carriers, he would have to be hunched down the whole time.

I have one almost exactly like the first one. Only mine's dusty pink instead of bright pink.
