our playgroup.... I love it, my kids love it. But my daughter gets 1-2 colds/illnesses a month - she always picks up something if we are around anyone sick. Now I just got notice that the girl whose birthday party we went to Thursday has hand foot mouth disease. I dont know if my daughter has it - but I just want to cry.

I am sorry that your daughter keeps getting sick, but I have to say I agree with Liz. It will help her build up resistance to common bugs, and will mean less sick days once she has to go to school.

Kids are going to get stuff. Either they get it now, or they get it when they get into school. It's tough when they're sick, but if they don't build up their immunities now, it will be a lot tougher if they're sick when they're in school, because they'll be missing so much in school.

My son was sick a LOT until he was about 3. He's hardly been sick at all since then. Something minor every now and then, but nothing that lasts very long.

thanks girls. Sigh. I know you all are right. My son just has a great immune system - he's 5 and still - it's awesome. So my dd is the complete opposite.
