Something different for Issac

I think I'm gonna put him in TaeKwonDo. I have a coupon for a local place, he would get a free uniform plus 8 weeks of class for $99. I'm gonna find out more next week before I make a decision, like how often the classes are and such. It's in town so it's not like I can afford to take him every day or anything.

Trey really wants to take it too. I think that after soccer this fall I will enroll him in that too.

I think it sounds like a great idea. Alyssa asks me to go and I told her it would be that or dance - She loves dance too much to give it up.

Well he didn't really care for Kindermusik that much, so I wanted him to have something to do since he's not doing that anymore. I'm not wasting $200 on something I know he's not really into that much.

My oldest two kids, Josh and Jake both take TKD, as well as DH. Josh and DH will be black belt by next fall, Jake just started in March....he just passed his first test tonight and got his yellow belt.
We put Josh in when we were having so many issues with ODD. It made such a HUGE difference in his attitude, confidence and anger issues, it was honestly the best thing we ever did for him.
Our school is run through taekwondo network, and held at our local YMCA. There are two forms of TKD, Korean and American. Ours is totally Korean, even our certification comes right from Korea. There are differant belts and levels depending on which TKD association they are in.
Ours is fairly inexpensive, it comes out to about $75 for 12 weeks + $15 for testing night. They test every twelve weeks. They also hold sparring tournaments in the spring and fall, which my guys LOVE. I did pay for the uniform and gear separately from our class fees though. I paid $25 for the uniform and $40 for the sparring gear, so total for each person start-up was about $150/12 weeks. Our classes are only once a week.
I think it is one of the best "sports" out there for both boys and girls, it certainly does wonders for self confidence and discipline.
