Phallic stage

Aaron has gotten into a phase that I don't like. His conversations sometime center around "pee pees, butts and poop." He will announce if he can see your butt or if you are naked, and he will come up and just grab your butt or privates. It's getting so old. Okay, so he is in the Phallic stage if you subscribe to Freud's theories but I hope this ends soon. Anyone else going through this with their 4-6 year olds?

yup right there with ya on that with Ian. He doesn't grab us, but he holds himself CONSTANTLY!

Now and then Sarah will; say something to that effect, but only if she hears it first! Lol It's pretty easy to distract her from that topic though.
And no one walks around here naked, so I have no advice there.

Oh yeah, I forgot that he also will run around the house doing the "pee pee dance," i.e., pulling his undies down and grabbing his penis. I just hope he doesn't do that when we have friends over.

I have 2 in the "weenie" stage. Not sure where they learned that name for it, but at least twice a day I hear the "he hit me in the weenie!" cry.

Then there's also the "my weenie grew!" exclamation on occasion. Oh the joys of raising boys!

Joey runs around holding himself once in a while. I always stop him, and reassure him that it's not going to fall off - he doesn't need to hold onto it. He's doing it without thinking, so I'm making him think about it.

Oh wow, I'm not alone! Yeah, I forgot about the fascination with poop and "toots". I wonder what girls do during this stage. Boys can be gross so I can't imagine girls being gross too.

My daughter might have giggled about some of this stuff, but she never BRAGGED about it!

Zachary is 6 and still in to it. He runs around holding himself and thinks that bodily functions are the funniest thing in the world.
He also doesn't think twice about walking out of the bathroom with his pants and undies still around his ankles... the really bad part is, he'll do it at other people's houses too.

Oh joy, I have many years to enjoy this phase.

My girls do/did it too. Every now and then a doll/toy poops on my head and everyone giggles. Kev used to walk around naked after his showers before getting dressed - but that stopped when Alyssa was 3/4 and noticed daddy was different than her and looked at mommy and asked what's wrong with daddy. I still do to a point (heck they follow me everywhere) and Kate has a need to yell out Mommy's naked. and point out body parts.

Yep I have to agree its a phase but it may last awhile.

The whole looking under my skirt has me irritated too. I picture him becoming a pervert someday.

OMG we are going through all of the samethings here too. I'm so tired of the poop conversation during dinner. I can tolerate it any other time but not at the dinner table.
