Would you as a parent...

Would you as a parent scout for friends for your chldren?

If your child was shy and didn't have many friends around would you "set" your kids up with other kids?

Story... Brittany has no one her age around here but I knew of this girl that has lived down our block for as long as we have. I have seen her at the public school and I say hi to her. Brittany and her have the same dress style and look alike and are just one year apart. Well yesterday I saw her at the parade and asked her to sit with us. That was 10 am and the girls hung out all day till 8 pm. I asked them so are you like BFF's now. Sadie says no we are BFFL's now. I was stumped. They are Best Friends For Life.

Okay so I feel like now I pimped my kid out. I met mom and dad and now my kid has a friend. Has anyone else done this? Or am I alone?

I haven't done it before, but it sounds like a good idea!

I haven't done it. Alyssa is so outgoing that she makes friends left and right.

However I don't think what you did was bad. I certainly wouldn't consider it *pimping* my kids out

I would do that for my kids without any problem... Tessa has a hard time making friends and if I can help her with that I will

At a younger age I think it is a great idea to "set them up" with other kids that we think would make good friends for them... especially when they are on the shy side. Haley always had to be walked over to where other kids were playing and introduced when she was little.
As they get older though I think it would become a big no-no. God only knows what they could think of your good intentions.
