what do you think?

Eric really wants to take the boys to see the new Simpsons movie. I'm totally against it and I think I have several good reasons. Firstly, the few times they saw the show found them getting in all kinds of trouble repeating things or trying to do things they saw or heard Bart do. Just since they've seen the commercial, they have dropped the dog into a mud puddle and then were trying to hold him up to walk on the ceiling - and every other word out of their mouths is weiner. Which while not the worst word in the world becomes really inappropriate at times, like when we're at the store and they call every person who walks by a wiener. Loudly. The phrase "eat my shorts" wasn't my favorite either, and even less so now since they saw the movie commercial and fell so in love with the wiener that now Chris keeps saying " Eat my wiener" , which , even tho he has no clue how awful it sounds, I'm sure you all understand.......Erics arguement is that they hear me cuss at home and those words are worse than weiner. I say true, but the difference is they are not shouting swear words they hear me say at people when I take them places. I just really don't think it's a movie they really need to see......

My kids won't see it. I have never thought the Simpsons was a kid tv show anyway.

I agree totally. My kids aren't even allowed to watch the show much less go see the movie. I also agree that I don't think it's a kids show.

I would tell Eric the kids might be able to watch it at home, in your livingroom, once it comes out on DVD, after you have seen it first. For one, it'll be in a year or so, so the kids will be older. Second, you can discuss parts of it with them, if there are inappropriate things for them - or nix it all together if it's just too much.

We took the boys to see it on the weekend. It is not bad, I have seen worse things on regular TV.
The boys watch the Simpsons at home all the time.

It was really funny and the kids got a good laugh over it.
