When death comes calling, so does Oscar the cat

PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (AP) -- Oscar the cat seems to have an uncanny knack for predicting when nursing home patients are going to die, by curling up next to them during their final hours.

How weird! I've always heard that animals are more sensitive to some things, but death? Wow!

I just read about that this morning. I thought it was pretty neat. I think it must mean alot to the families who get that last chance to say goodbye to their loved one thanks to Oscar. And a comfort to those passing ( even tho they might not know it) to have a warm, little "friend" by their side in those last hours, esp. if their family is unable to be there, or at least until their family arrives. I hav alot of respect for cats. My stepdad,Dave, is epileptic, and his cat, Greyboy, always warns him when he is going to have a seizure. Greyboy would also find a way to warn someone else in the house, too, so someone would be there to help Dave. Once he got Dave sitting or laying down, he would come find whoever else was home. If we didn't pay attention to his meowing, he'd bite us. Then we would pay attention cuz the only time Greyboy would bite anyone is if something were really wrong.

Kudos to Oscar, and the nursing staff that adopted him.
