HARTFORD, Connecticut (AP) -- State officials are re-examining their policies after learning two convicted burglars out on parole are accused of killing three family members during a home invasion and arson.

Ok, so these two each had 20 burglaries on their records, and they are walking the street? I realize that burglary isn't a violent crime, but still. What good to any jail time have? They obviously weren't rehabilitated, so we (the taxpayers) paid to feed and house these people for however-long and got nothing in return.

Prosecutor Michael Dearington said he had not yet decided whether to pursue the death penalty.

"I know the public consensus is they should be fried tomorrow," he said.
Heck yeah. They'd probably have people lining up to throw the switch.

Yeah I saw this on tv. I have to say I wasn't really paying attention to the news until the National MS Society Rep started talking. The mom had MS (diagnosed 8 years ago) and her daughter was a HUGE fund raiser for the National MS Society.

This is so horrible because those guys should have NEVER been out. for the family.

This whole situation just stinks. The husband of the family is our friend's doctor. It's very scary. It's reminded me to set my alarm even when I'm home.
