I feel awful

All I do is sleep, cry, or puke. Except at night. I can't sleep at night. The baby starts moving about midnight and I can't get comfortable, so I end up in the recliner in the living room. I can sometimes go back to bed about 3AM. The last few nights, that's about the time I start though. Then again when I get up in the morning. I haven't kept anything down since lunch yesterday. Even popsicles, which were my sole salvation for a while. ACKKKK! I have a doctor appointment next week. Jonathan comes home this weekend. I am really hoping I'm feeling more normal in a few days, because I'm not sure how I can deal with him if I'm this sick when he gets back.

If I'm puking a lot, is the baby still getting what it needs? I mean, I can keep things down for a few hours, and the baby is very active right after I eat, but how do I know that its getting everything it needs?

i'm betting that the baby is still getting everything it needs. at least things are staying down a couple of hours, if in doubt what about drinking a meal shake that is just full of nutrients?

Unless you are really thin the baby will take it's nutrients first, from the food and your fat stores.....the problem is YOU won't get what you need, which will leave you tired and worse yet nauseous ( even on top of the MS). If you are keeping things down for a while you will be getting a good portion of the nutrients though so that is good. Be sure you are using the times you can eat to get really good for you stuff in. Maybe try some of those cereal bars that have the extra vitamins in them, the shakes, chicken soup, veggie soup...anything that is nutrient dense. I know when I was so sick with Jake I would have been lost without my peppermint....gum, candy, a dab of peppermint oil on my wrist to smell when my belly rolled......it really seemed to curb the nausea. Be sure to mention it to your dr....there are a lot of new and safe meds available when things get really bad.

My doc always said the concern was the mom not getting the nutrients. The baby will take what they need from your body if they don't get it from food. Has your doc prescribed any anti nausea meds?

I lost 12lbs and my doctor wasn't worried. As long as your getting enough fluids the baby is taking nutrients first.

I hope that you're feeling better hon.
