What will you NOT allow your child to wear?

Is there a certain style or trend that you absolutely hate and won't let your child wear?

I'm pretty easy going when it comes to how my kids dress. I don't mind Haley's goth attire or the fact that she likes "Happy Bunny" shirts (as long as they aren't obscene). The one thing I will NOT let her wear is pants or shorts with writing on the butt. I think it's ridiculous and don't want eyes drifting in that direction for any reason.

There's not anything in particular that I can think of .... we just take it on a case by case basis. If soemthing looks too short or too low cut, then it's out, but there's no particular style we've banned at this point.

I wouldn't let Rach wear something that would show her stomach or something like that....unless it was around the house. Anything that bares too much would be out for sure.

The only clothing item I've absolutely nixed is Heelies. I will NEVER, NEVER buy him a set of Heelies. I find it obnoxious when kids run around on those in stores and malls.

I totally agree with you,Judy. I can't tell you how many times I have almost been run over!!

For the boys, it's simple, no heelies, same reason as Judy.

For Olivia, no belly showing shirts, no writing on the butt, no platform style shoes (she's 5 1/2 for crying out loud), no short shorts. There is plenty of time for her to dress like a teenager, I can't believe some of the stuff other 5-6 year old girls wear.

Thank you gals! It's good to know I'm not alone.

No heelies and no pants around there knees crap. I think it looks stupid to have the waist of their jeans under their butt and the crotch at the knees. I informed my son(s) if he even considered it I would make him wear womens thongs under them.....bet those pants would get pulled up then! He wants to show his @ss I will make it easier for him.

Oh yeah no Heelies...kids at church wear them and it bugs me to death!

Are those those shoes with the skates in them? I thought they looked kind of fun. The kids here aren't obnoxious with them which probably explains my different opinion about them.

Right now bikinis are out and the dresses must have shorts or underwear covers on underneath. I read the state sex offender list too often I guess. I don't want to give those sickos any reason to evolve a fantasy life around my kids.
When they are like Haley or Jessica's age then the bikini ban will probably go.

Cori has heelies but she is not allowed to wear them when we go to stores. She mainly just wears them around the neighborhood or to school. When she wears them to school, there is a teacher waiting at the front door to check to make sure the wheels are not in them. She keeps them in her backpack and puts them on to go back and forth from the bus stop.

The only thing I do not really allow them to wear is "Daddys little...." whatever things. If a shirt has anything about daddy on it, its not going to be worn or even bought.

I don't like heelies either.

For Kiera, I won't allow anything with writing on the butt, short shorts, and her Dad has banned bikinis.

Oh yeah, Billy has banned bikinis too, forgot that one.
