What's up with boys and guns???

Aaron is fascinated with guns. Is this normal? I've been told it is but geez, how do you get them out of this phase? We don't let me watch shows with guns or anything like that but still, he finds out about them and any toy he gets hold of that even remotely resembles a gun, it becomes one. Arrrgh!

All boys are fascinated with guns. Sticks are guns, their fingers are guns. I don't think most boys ever grow out of it, they just learn to control it

I do not let the boys have toy guns...even when I tell them not to they point them at people...so, no more here.

Zach is the same way... ANYTHING and everything because a gun in his hands. I don't really mind it unless the play gets out of hand. Most of the time he is in his own little world talking to himself and shooting at the imaginary.

Yep totally normal....i think it must be in the genes. Nick loves to play guns...and if he doesn' t have a toy one, then he will make one out of something else

We did the no guns or pretend guns in our house too, until this year. Billy came home with Nerf guns. They don't look like real guns and if they point it at anyone, I take it for a week. There hasn't been a problem with those, but I wasn't happy when Billy brought those home.

I don't mind if they don't look like real guns. Nerfs are fine. However, some of the toys that I have seen, and Aaron wants them of course, look very real. I don't like that.

Logan got his first toy gun at a party last week, i have already taken it away, i got tired of him walking around saying' i'll shoot you dead mom'

not an enjoyable phase

OH I loathe those phrases. Aaron's new fascination is people getting shot and "getting blood all over." Yuck!
