What disappears in your home??

I have yet to figure out *why*, but we go through more pizza cutters than any other family I know. I have potatoe peelers, whisks, egg separators and spatulas that are ancient, but we go through at least 4 or 5 pizza cutters per year. Where could they go??

Scissors.

I had 4 pair for by my sewing machines (2 big and 2 little) and I am down to 1. I would say that Kev tosses them when he catches the girls playing with them - but I end up finding them months later in a totaly odd aprt of the house in an odd spot.

I used to lose sewing scissors all the time, until I bought a pair of left-handed ones. DH hates them, which means he won't be using them for cutting duct tape, like he did my other $30 set of Fiskars.

The other problem we have is pens. They grow legs and run off, I swear. I probably buy 10 10-packs a year, and by December, we have none around.

SPOONS!

My inlaws bought us really nice silverware 2 years ago for christmas that comes with this warranty that if you need it replaced, and they don't make that model anymore, you get a WHOLE new set (like 128 pieces) free. Well.. I looked to replace just the 'teaspoons' and They're like $7 a piece!

:thud:

Pizza cutters? That's an odd one to have walk away.

We lose pens like crazy but I know that's because Mike puts one behind his ear and then wanders off and they end up at work or in the car.

Hair brushes! We have like 50 but can never find one.

Used to be silverware but then I found out it was because Maci would throw them away when she cleared off her plate in the trash can.

Spoons and combs. All the lost pens must be coming to my house because they're overflowing my mug. My dh must be stealing them from school. (Sorry, I couldn't resist after reading the school supply debate)

Yep ... solved that one awhile back!

I also found out the boys were feeding wooden spoons to the dogs, but for the life of me, can't figure out where a friggin' pizza cutter would go!

We have a lot of disappearing items in our house. Scissors are a big one along with hairbrushes, tape, and nail clippers.

i would have to say measuring tapes. my parents even bought me a new one for christmas this year cuz every time they phone and ask me to measure my windows or something i can't find a tape

OMG what doesn't go missing in my house....

I can never find my tape measures (ds takes off with them)
Pens (both my kids take off with them)
Liz's Tamagotchi...and her Muichiz Bratz toys are both gone...can't find either one of them anywhere (and i just cleaned up both kids rooms, and they are not there)

Where do I start!?!

Scissors - I keep a pair on my nightstand for doing coupons. Those and my fabric scissors are the only ones that NEVER disappear (I hid my fabric shears after Ally wanted to use them for crafts!) The 2 pair I keep in the kitchen keep walking off, as do the 2 pair on Rick's desk and the pair on mine. I have probably 10 sets of kids scissors, but Ally can never find them so she "borrows" mine and then they end up lost as well!

Teaspoons and salad forks - I refuse to buy good silverware because I know these peices will just get lost. They are not getting thrown away, they simply disappear!

Scotch tape - doesn't matter how much I but, I can never find any!

Pens - Ally is constantly using them to draw and Drew just takes a few when he needs them for school (he constantly loans them out or loses them). I have gotten to the point where I hide the unopened packages in my closet and only put out a few at a time! LOL! I used to have more pens that anyone could possible need - now I have none!

Dawn - I think we have your pizza cutters! I found 7 when I cleaned out the kitchen drawer!

Re: What disappears in your home??

We tend to lose socks more than anything. Now I'm not talking about going to do laundry and losing a sock to the washer or dryer. No, somehow the socks sprout legs and creep off into hiding places in the apartment. I have lost probably a total of 5 pair since I moved in in November.
