Baby Einstein

Hi! Im new here and I havent had a chance to look at all the posts to see if this question has already been asked. I have a 2 month old daughter who loves to watch baby einstein dvds. I only let her watch 1 a day but I was just wondering if I should let her watch them at all. Ive heard that it can delay speech development and motor skills because theyre not practicing either of them while watching the movie. Do any of you guys have a baby this young, and do you let them watch baby einstein dvds?

We used to let our dd watch baby einstein all the time. She was not delayed in anything. She is now 6 and reads at a grade 3 level (maybe even higher if she had the patience to read the longer books)

My son is now 3. He didn't watch them and had no desire to. My neice is the same age as my ds...she watches them all the time and is smart as a whip. Nick is pretty smart too....but in other ways.

I am not to sure if baby einstein is good or bad for our kids. Too much tv is never too good...but one a day is not bad, especially if you are sitting with them, and interacting with them as they watch it.

I'd have to agree with Michele on this one.

My girls have grown up watching cartoons. (and NOT baby einstein) and they are pretty smart for their ages. I don't think letting them watch some here or there makes a big difference. I think its more importantnthat you interact with them while they watch and talk abou the things they see.

I agree with the other ladies... i think that watching a couple won't hurt them... in fact a LOT of times it helps.. just remember to keep interacting with them too!!
