Day 2 of preparing for school

and my children think I'm a monster!

We set bedtime back to 9:30 where it belongs and I've gotten the kids up by 8:00 two days in a row now. They are not taking this easily but I reminded them that next week it is going to be 6:00am! Zach is getting up whinier than usual (threw a temper tantrum over cereal v/s poptarts this morning) and Haley falls back asleep 2 or 3 times before I have to drag her butt downstairs with force.
We are going to make it though!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm not laughing at you.
The girls don't have school today because they are phasing the kids in. 1/3 of the class on Mon-Wed. (The girls were in the last 1/3rd) today just the boys are going, tomorrow just the girls, then on Monday everone starts going every day.
I put them to bed at 9 last night and they kept getting up. I put them back to bed at least 5 times each until 10! This morning I woke them up at 6:30, again at 6:35, again at 6:40...you get the picture.

yeah.. i'm not looking forward to having to get the kids up at 6:50 next week... Jacob's been waking himself up by 8:00 the last few mornings

We're starting the alarm wake ups tomorrow morning. But man, y'all's kids go to bed way later than mine, mine go to bed at 8pm.

I would have Zach in bed by 8:00 because I really think he needs the sleep but it is such a HUGE hassle when Haley doesn't go to bed until 9:30. I literally spend an hour walking him back up the stairs because he needs a drink, or needs to potty, or he's scared. It gets really old, really quick and even threats and spankings don't stop the crying and repeated attempts to get up.

Haha Dana, I was thinking that I was the mean mommy. I make the girls go to bed at 8 as well. Cori gets to stay up til 9 or 9:30 though. She wakes up at 6 every morning (in fact, she wakes me up most mornings) so I have no problem with letting her stay up later.

I would love for mine to go to bed at 8, Gary and I try to get them in bed at 8, but it never works out that way. I am always running behind on dinner or giving them a bath. Most nights, it's 7:30 before they even get a bath.
I am so jealous!

I'm going to be in so much trouble next week. I'm not doing a practice week, so we'll just jump into it and hope it goes well!

i'm so glad i have a year before we start school

We just jump in too. Although I'll be working nights at teh store so I am sure that they will ba asleep on the couch - rather than in bed. Although I have been telling Alyssa that 9 is bedtime - so she knows.

Last year I had her in bed at 7 It got dark we did our routine and off ot bed. She was never the wiser. NOW she can tell time (At least what hour it is) so I don't think I'll have the same luck.

It will get easier. Soon they will be back on track.

I'm mean, lol. Bedtime is 8:30 during school. During the summer I let the older boys stay up till 9 and then they are allowed to read, or play quietly in their rooms, but Nick and Kiera stay on schedule.
