Did anybody start a new preschool program this year?

Any birthdays this month?

Anything special going on?

Kate is too young to start this year (Gotta be 3 by Sept 1st) So we are sitting out - good thing too cause she refuses to use the potty.

No birthday this month

Nothing special this month either.

We are working with her at home though on colors, abcs etc.

Zachariah started preK3 on Friday. He loved it. He's all potty trained (even at night--go Zach!) so it's been a really easy transition. He only has 3 days this week b/c of Rosh Hashanah on Th and F. It's a public school in the city I work so we follow the same schedule which is nice. They provide breakfast and lunch and I send in snacks. The school is an environmental studies magnet school so they have a focus on science which he LOVES. He has art, music or gym every day and they have a really nice playground for outdoor play. All in all I am so happy he got in and that he's enjoying himself.

Emily is in pre-k this year! She went for one week, then we were on vacation for two weeks, and she'll go back tomorrow. So far, she loves her teacher and her class. She can identify almost all the letters of the alphabet, and she is really good with phonics. She is writing more and more. Her birthday isn't for a few more months, but she is having fun planning her brother's birthday party, which is in less than a month, and she is already planning hers, too! She just started gymnastics, too, and she loves that.

Nathan is in preschool again this year...He loves it and his teacher. They are working with him and his speech (he is very hard to understand)... He is a quick learner though and I think that if he didn't have the speech problem that he would be advanced!

Nothing special going on this month

Sammie and Karah are both starting the German Kindergarten tomorrow morning. They will go there two days this week, and then starting next week 5 days a week. They will be learning German, very quickly I imagine. So we will be doing some English learning at home (Sammie is almost ready to start learning to read, and Karah is working on shapes and numbers)

PJ and Emmie started PreK and LOVE IT! I am the one who is having a hard time adjusting.
They can already identify and write their alphabet, know their colors, shapes, and how to write their name, so they are not behind, which I was afraid of because the didn't go to PreK3, like some of the other kids in their class.
They are doing so well, I am so proud of them. They are growing up way too quickly.

Gary and I really like their school. I helped last Friday by volunteering to count money from the fundraiser, and felt very welcome.
