Another - Could it be?

Hello! My husband & I have just started TTC during my last ovulation and I am just a few days out from when my period should start. For the past week or so I have felt kind of, well like I am about to go on my period, I have a little discharge and kind of like a subtle cramping and in addition sometimes smells have seemed very intense and this morning when I was trying to eat breakfast it really bothered me and I could only have a few bites. My boobs hurt. Not all of the time but today they have hurt almost all day and this morning when I was about to hop in the shower I noticed a line on my breast on the underside, it wasn't a pressure mark or anything and then a few hours later it went away? Weird. Could it be??? I hope so badly that I am but I am scared to get too excited right now w/out having taken a test first. I am going to test Wednesday but that seems FOREVER away!

Ugh I remember that part so well. PMS symptoms and pregnancy symptoms can be so similar. I drove my self nuts. I don't have any advice for you but WAIT to test until you're actually late, you'll spend a fortune (even on dollar tests) otherwise.

Breast tenderness and sensitivity to smells happened early on for me but I think I only tested 2 days before my period and that was after we'd been trying over a year.

I know it's so hard when you decide now is the time. I envy those people who had an oops

you will be in my thoughts!

I was always someone who knew that I was pregnant before I could even test and waiting out that time before you can get the definite answer is HARD. Unfortunately the only way to be certain is time.
Wishing you the best!

Thanks for the good thoughts everyone! I am keeping my fingers crossed... I'll find out soon (seems like forever though). I would normally see Aunt Flo between the 13th - 15th of this month so I guess it I don't have it by the 15th I'll test. 6 more days to go..... C'mon baby!

Thanks everyone! Okay so here is where I stand....

It has been 30 days since my last period and I am officially late. I did take a test and it came up negative but that was a few days ago and I still haven't gotten it. So I am not sure what is going on. Earlier this week I felt like I was getting ready to go on my period, crampy, emotional and never got it. Now I feel fine, I don't feel like I am about to get on and haven't gotten my 'guess what's coming' pimple either. Of course it is possible that my period is just planning a surprise attack and will come hopefully in some public situation and I am sure I will be without a tampon! LOL!

I will say that I could barely stomach my lunch today and have been having a lot of nausea. I don't want to get too excited (I never thought nausea would give me a hopeful, happy feeling but never say never) but I am going to try to put everything out of my mind and retest on Monday if needed. If I still haven't gotten 'Aunt Flo' by then it will have been 33 days since my last period.

C'MON BABY!

I have also decided to do a Beatrix Potter theme for my nursery (whenever baby comes). Just thought I would share that. LOL!

You're stronger than I was. I could never wait to test. I can't wait to hear how you make out. Love Beatrix potter BTW.

What kind of birth control did you come off of? How long were you on it? And were you regular before you were on it? All those things contribute to how regular you will be right away and long term not on anything.

Thanks everyone! I can hardly wait!

Mel, my husband and I were just using condoms. I was on Depro Provera about 10 years ago and I just had one shot but it really messed my body up. So since that experience I haven't wanted to use any birth control by putting stuff in my body, if that makes since. I wanted to keep things more... organic. I am generally pretty regular too, not putting it out of sight though that I might have a weird month here and there.

How about everyone here, when / how did you first realize you were pregnant? How long were you TTC before it happened?

Ahh that makes sense. I was just wondering if maybe you were having a wacky cycle because of coming off birth control.

DH and I tried for just over a year before we got pregnant. I remember reading somewhere that the average couple takes 8 months (although I know lots that took less or more). Since each cycle you only have about a 25% chance of conceiving even if everything lines up right.

I have to laugh at how I found out I was pregnant. DH and I were living with my mom for a bit and one night DH was having hot dogs (he loves them weirdo ) and I told him to get them away from me because they stunk. My mom said maybe you're pregnant (she knew we were trying) and DH looked at me and said YOU ARE NOT PREGNANT, deal.
Later that night (it was a thurs) we were watching Survivor and I went and peed on my last pregnancy test in the house during a commercial. It showed up right away. It was the day before Good Friday. I was about 3 or 4 days before when I expected my period.

I'd lots of months were I had some symptoms and one month that I swore I was pregnant because I was over 10 days late. I even went and had a blood test done I was so sure the sticks were wrong. It was the weirdest month and I think that I just wanted it so bad.

Of course then I had morning/noon/night sickness for FIVE months and could barely leave the house some days I was so sick

With my daughter it happened right away, then she was stillborn and we tried right away and it took nine months but that was a different situation than most--I'd just had a full term baby. Then Zachariah nursed until 12 months, 1 weekand I had not had a period in that whole time since he was born. He weaned, I got my period and got pregnant 2 weeks after. It was perfect.

Abby, I got teary eyed when I read your post and then looked at your signature, I am so happy that you have 2 wonderful children now and I am so sad for you to have lost one. My Aunt had a stillborn and I know how devastating it was for her.

Mel, I love your stinky hot dog story! Ha, that is so cute! LOL!

Well, I went on my period today so no baby. Oh well. I am just glad that I had taken that one test or else I think that I would have been really, really upset because I really did 'feel pregnant'. So it's back to trying.

I want to have my own little family more now than ever. I think with finally being able to start TTC I have allowed myself to really open up and realize how much of a blessing having a child is and what a miracle it is. I know that sounds so corny. I just can't wait to be pregnant and have a child!
