Chores for a 7 year old??

Okay.. so I'm coming to the point to where Austin needs to be picking up some slack and some chores around the house to help out.

Should cleaning his room be considered a chore?
What else could he do?

Austin offered to feed and water the dogs every evening.
Is that enough?

What does/did your 7 y/o do?

My son is 5 and his chores are to clean his room, when grocery shopping helping carry grocery's. On garbage day he is to help take out all the garbage and collect all cans from all the rooms. This way it's not every day but at least 3 times a week.

oh Yeah.. On Trash day when we get home his job is to bring the garbage can back to the house.

I guess that is good enough. It's a start.. I just don't want him being lazy!
