I have a whole chicken..

I pulled one of those 'fresh young chickens' out of my freezer and now I have no clue how to make it.

I'm not sure what to season it with.. I normally just bake chicken with s & p, and a little poultry seasoning because the chicken normally goes into something (soup, stew, chicken and noodles.. etc)

Well I decided to just kind of flub it..

I got some roasting veggies out of the freezer and put those in,
I used garlic powder, onion powder, a little poultry seasoning and some Mrs dash table recipe.

I think it looks good.. smells good so far.. for being raw chicken....

I have made a whole chicken once in my entire life and I had no idea how to do it. It was one of those things were I ended up with one and it sat in my freezer for a few months before I finally decided I HAD to figure out something to do with it. I'm pretty sure I ended up just seasoning it and cooking it along the same guidelines I would a turkey which is something I had done before. It wasn't the greatest though... kinda dry and flavorless on top of the fact that I'm not a fan of on the bone chicken.

mmmmmmm I love roasting chicken all I do to season mine is some seasoning salt and pepper on the outside of it, throw it in the roasting pan with the lid on....about3/4 of the way through I take the lid off to help brown it more....YUMMY

Great now my mouth is watering for chicken, guess I need to go buy one LOL

When I bake a whole chicken, first I make an herb butter, I usually use sage and Pampered Chef Italian Seasoning. I pull the skin away from the meat and shove the butter in it. Then I'll slice an onion and maybe some garlic and shove it up its butt. On the outside I'll rub oil over the skin, then season with salt, pepper, and paprika, then sprinkle flour all over and bake it for about 1.5 hours on 350, depending on how big it is. I bake it in a PC baker uncovered...it is sooooo good!
