After school care

Thread Starter
A lady emailed me about after-school care for her daughter. She's almost 13 years old. She'd like me to pick her up from school around 2:30, take her home, get herr a snack, start her on her homework, do some tutoring, and watch her til the mom gets home around 6:00 or 6:30.

Do you think this $50 a week is a fair price?

as a mom, yes i think that is probably a fair price

but as the person doing it? that is four hours, and my daycare would charge 20 bucks a day for that, especialy with tutoring along with it

can she afford more? i would quote a little higher if i were you... what are you doing with jonathan at this time? can he go to their house every day too?

The day care center I live next to (and looked into putting my kids in) charges $50 a week for before and after school. They do snack and help with homework if needed. They bus the kids back and forth to school.

What about if school gets cancelled? Or early release, or late start? Weather delays?

The center that I live beside charges $20/day if school gets cancelled.
Just other things to think about.. extra charges or inconvienences that might arise.

I pay Chase $10 gas per week, 40 childcare, 10 tutor fee .. plus $5 extra on 1/2 days and $10 extra on schools out days.
