Horrible acid indigestion, please help!!!

I am having terrible, awful acid indigestion, and I'm only 7 weeks along! It keeps me up at night, I'm nauseous and feeling gross all day, I've tried tums and mylanta, but I'm still having so much discomfort! Does anyone have any suggestions? Tips or tricks? I really appreciate your time and thoughts!

Talk to your doctor. They can prescribe something. That's what it took for me.

I know exactly what you are going through! I had horrible indigestion & heartburn through most of my last pregnancy. I was so uncomfortable all the time and tried all sorts of medicines and home remedies. Changing the way you eat should provide some amount of relief... eat smaller meals, avoid acidic foods like oranges and tomatoes, dairy products, spicy foods, and carbonated & caffinated drinks, try to eat at least a few hours before lying down, and stay elevated when you sleep.

So did you see your doctor about this? We'd like to know how you dealt with the indigestion.
Also is this your first child?

I was like that too and the mass quantity of Tums I was taking was making me more nauseous. My doc siad to take Zantac and it worked great. Of course it didn't for Liz so call the doc and see what he says.

It never occurred to me to ask for anythning stronger, so I lived on Tums for 9 months of each pregnancy. I used to have a bottle in my desk, at home, and in my purse!

Hope you find something that works!

Hi Everyone, and thanks again for your suggestions and words of encouragement! My indigestion has improved dramatically, and it seems that it has just taken a little bit of time more than anything to get there. I have to stay away from certain foods, but other than that I am okay for the most part. In the end I just started eating more bland foods more often, and taking a lot of mylanta.
