Help with Heat

Help if you can.... Does anyone have an oil furnace for heat in their house? I can't get our heat to come on... and it is freezing cold in here. I called the handyman that we use some times, but he can't come until Thursday afternoon.
Any suggestions? I have tried turning the thermostat up, down, and off... I have turned all the radiators off and then back on. Still nothing. We had a simliar problem last winter, but Jim is the one who finally got them working and he doesn't remember what he did.

Mine did that, the pilot light wouldnt stay lit and auto igniter was shot. This was 3 years ago, my first winter alone. I had to call someone to come out. THey eventuially replaced the parts. I remember having to bleed the tank too. Did you just get a fill up?

Yep... I had to wait until after an inspection was done to fill it. So we were cold all last week too, but I had the tank filled on Monday. My handyman called me back, his wife is making him come tomorrow... she remembered that I have three kids. It's cold enough for snow, and she said that he needed to come here before he came home for dinner tomorrow.
Thankfully I have electric heaters, but they just take the edge off the heat, they can't really warm the house.
