Emma's birth story - long overdue

A few days or so before Emma was born...I had lost my mucus plug or I thought it was. I started having braxton hick contractions a lot...I never did during my pregnancy. It was something new that I have never experienced before. Anyway...

On February 15, 2007...I arrived at the hospital around 6:00am...got all preped...I was schdeuled for a c-section. Around 7:00 am they wheeled me into the OR...at 7:56am Emma Catherine was born. She weighed 8 pounds and 12.4 oz...she was around 20 1/2 or 21 or so inches....I don't have the exact because she was measured wrong...the nurse said 22 inches, but a week later at the dr's office she was 21 1/2.

Anyway...Emma was rushed to the NICU because she had a mucus plug stuck in her throat...she aspirated some of the amonic fluid. She stayed there for 8 hours...Eric took pictures of her so that I could see her. Because I had to lay flat for 8 hours since I had a spinal. I didn't know that I had to lay flat afterwards...anyway I didn't get to touch Emma until she was 8 hours old.

We stayed in the hospital for 2 days and went home.

Emma is doing great...she is now 9 months...18 lbs and walking everywhere. She started walking around 7 1/2 months.

She is a happy spitter. She has spit up everyday....five thousand times a day since the day we brought her home from the hospital. I have taken her to two drs and they both agree that she is just a happy spitter. When she gets 12 - 15 months old...it should clear up. I hope so.
