CLEARWATER, Fla. - Evel Knievel, the red-white-and-blue-spangled motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over crazy obstacles including Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho's Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.

I remember watching him when I was really little. Even then, I thought he was crazy. A sad thing, though - he fought as long as he could.

I remember him. I just watched a special on him yesterday. He died fairly young but I guess I'm surprised he lived this long with what he's done to his body.

Yeah I agree Seabeacon... I guess with all of the trauma his body took it just couldn't last any longer.
