HIGH Blood Pressure After Giving Birth

I was due to have my son on 12/22 & supposed to be induced on 12/12. However, I went in for my weekly check up on 11/28 & for the 3rd visit in a row my BP was high. I was sent home & told to keep an eye on my BP. I found it to be very high again & called my doc after hours. His partner told me to go to the office the next morning for a BP reading...I went in, they took the reading & said it was at a level where the OB needed to see me. In the end, he had me admitted to the hospital.

I was in for a total of 9 days...I had my baby on the 5th through induction & they kept me until late on the 8th because even after I had the baby my BP still did not go down - even with being on medication for it.

Has anyone else had experience with this? What was the eventual outcome?

I had high bp all throughout my pregnancy. I am on medication for it five years later.

I have heard that it can take a little while for pregnancy induced high bp to go down. I hope that yours regulates and that you don't need medication
