It does get easier, right?

Sigh.....It started out so easy - it has been fairly easy. But the nights have been awful. I've been getting about 3 hours of sleep a night - Alie is up constantly to eat. I'm thrilled she has such a healthy appetite and is gaining weight wonderfully after being so small at birth, but the lack of sleep is really getting to me. I can't nap much during the day either, with Shawn here. Eric takes over as much as possible when he gets home from work so I can get some rest, but I know he's tired too.

I guess I'm just looking for the reassurance that this too will pass....The first three weeks are the hardest I'm told.

It is tough at first but she will get into a schedule. Is she fully eating each time? Or just going for a snack?

Yep, it does get easier... One thing you might want to consider is co-sleeping. I didn't start out intending to do so, but found myself dropping off while nursing the baby with Tessa. Once I went with it, and brought her into our room I found myself getting more sleep

Yep te first fwew weeks are the hardes. Just keep plugging along. Co-sleeping was WONDERUL - to a point. I have a DH who sleeps like a log and I woke up and freaked more than once due to how he was with the baby. I moved them into their own beds about 6 months.

I co-slept with all 3. I did not put them in the middle of the bed at first though. I had a mesh bed railing I used. I too would wake up sitting up after falling asleep nursing and it was just so much easier. Honestly by the time Abby came along I just flopped it out and went back to sleep...

Meagan.... me too! Once i had done it with Tessa, I coslept with all of the girls, then I didn't have to stay awake to nurse.
