cord care question

I have been cleaning Alie's cord with alcohol at every diaper change like I should. I know that a little bit of spotty bleeding as the cord loosens is normal. But I've noticed with it a little bit of yellow stuff that gets all crusty. It's only a little bit, and looks like snot under the stump. But there is no redness or odor that would indicate infection, and doesn't seem to hurt or bother her. I'm wondering if I should be concerned?

i would leave it alone for a few days and see what happens

When i had logan there was no cord care instructions, just to not pull the diaper over it.

it is probably almost ready to fall off soon!

I never used anything on any of my kids cords either.

I agree with Andrea. Leave it alone for a few days and see. If there doesn't seem to be anything wrong it's probably getting ready to fall off.

Doesn't sound serious, but I'd keep an eye on it as suggested above. Do you have a doctor visit coming up soon? I remember having weekly weight checks there for the first month. That would be a good time to bring it up if you're still concerned.
