The body of missing hiker Meredith Emerson has been found.

My heart goes out to her family and friends. I don't understand how someone can commit such a horrible crime like that.

I read about that earlier this morning. What a tragedy! A girl with a bright future had her life taken away from her, her family and friends lost her and a dog lost it's owner...all because some scumbag with no job wanted money. They better not get him on insanity charges. He knew what he was doing.

This just saddens me!

The really scary part is that they keep having all these people come forward who had these bizzare and threatening run-ins with him. NOT ONE person ever made a police report. If they had, things might be different now. I mean, he chased a woman with that police baton he carried, and he hit a 13 year old girl with a fly swatter while she was in a park walking and minding her own business. That kind of thing. They also think he may have killed two other hikers in North Carolina and another woman here in Georgia.

I think the one woman who said he chased her with a baton back in 2004 (I think) called the police but they didn't do anything about it and told her he was harmless. I wish I could find the link where I found that. (I've been following a forum...if you google "In Session Meredith Emerson"...people have been talking about the case there and some have been putting links to videos and articles about Meredith and Gary Hilton). Apparently that woman tried to get some written evidence about her call but there weren't any. The police should have at least checked it out. I would have went to the police chief and talked to him about it if that happened to me. (Maybe she did and didn't get anywhere?)

Anyways...even an older elementary school boy said the suspect would sit and watch kids in a nearby park and stare at them. THAT is really scarey too!!!

Hard telling how many unsolved crimes are related to Gary Hilton.
