is anyone starting to think about gardens this year?

Alyssa and I were chatting about flowers because with the recent warm up the flower beds have been exposed.

We are definitly going to plant flowers again this year. The girls had so much fun helping to plant and water that its something I really want to do again this year. Although instead of buying flowers cause they look pretty - we will by flowers that survive were we plant them. (I bought flowers that were for shade and planted them inthe heat of the sun! Needless to say they didn't last very long.

I'm just kicking myself for not having planted bulbs in the fall like I intended to. I LOVE tulips and thought they would look so pretty out front of my apartment...

I am already planning my vegetable garden! Around here we can start planting about March, towards the end of the month depending on how warm it gets. Rick and I have already looked at the plans for raised beds in the back yard (to keep the dogs out) and have a list of what we will need to buy to make them. He is also going to make me a collapsable trellis - I found the plans at one of my gardening sites. And I already have the materials to make 4 self watering containers for the veggies I will have to put out on the driveway again this year. So yeah, I'm ready! LOL!
