Ally was home all week, so I got her teacher to send some work home for her to do. One of them was her spelling workbook. Before I even let her look, I asked her to see if she could spell any of the words. SHE GOT EVERY ONE OF THEM RIGHT! And since this is a new book (for this semester), I know she hasn't seen them yet. She had 4 pages of spelling and got it all done is 20 minutes! (It would have been sooner, but I made her re-write the sloppy stuff!)
Then we started reading her weekly "take home reader". There are always a few words that I have to help her with, and this week was no exception. But she figured out the word usually all by herself and and sounded out the word thought. Not too shabby for a 1st grader! She definitely takes after her Mommy!
