Is this irresponsible on the part of ABC? Should they be forced to can this episode?

What do YOU think?

I would hope that it makes some parents stop and think and then educate themselves on vaccines ... However, the television is quite influencial in many people's lives and I think there is a strong possibility that it can and will scare some people out of getting their children vaccinated.
ABC has every right to air the show though and I'd actually be interested in watching it. I believe there is some truth in the vaccine/autism connection.

Sure ABC has "every right to air the episode". However, is it responsible?

Many people (NOT EVERYONE) believe a majority of what they see on tv..... I see it every day in the hospital. A lot of people think that a hospital stay works like an episode of ER......it's not even CLOSE. However, that's what they see and if things don't go that way, they are upset. Puts a lot of extra on the RN staff to provide proper education to families.

There is new information from studies day by day DISPROVING the autism/immunization link. For example: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080205...inGq.d9asR.3QA

So..... to ABC it doesn't matter if it's right, wrong or responsible. It's all about the ratings and the $$ in their pockets.

I agree with Kimmer. I think there is too much myth involved in the alleged link between autism and vaccines, and this tv show will only make it worse.

But isn't it the parents responsibility to do research about any vaccines they may have doubts about? I know that when I had Drew, I researched darn near everything about every shot he got! I know everyone doesn't go to that extreme, but surely the parents have to be held responsible? How can you blame a TV show for people's ignorance?

I think ABC has every right to air this show, but in light of the problems going on right now, I'm not sure that it is the most responsible thing they could be doing. I read 3 different articles today about immunizations NOT being linked to autism. The question is, how many other parents are going to read about that stuff and how many are going to take the TV as gospel?

Unfortunelty I think ALOT o people take what they see/hear on TV as gospel. ESPECIALLY when it is stu as scarey as Hey - this could give my kid autism. I know when Oprah ad Jenny Mccarthy on all of a suddent the autism/ vaccine debate was big.

Did I research shots when the kids got them. - NOPE. And honestly I still haven't. My girls are just fine. I think there is a ton of evidence either way and a person is going to believe wat thy WANT to believe.
