Describe the worst Valentine's Day you've ever had

Describe the worst Valentine's Day you've ever had. Who were you with, what did they do, what did you do? What make it so bad?

It wasn't terrible, but it sticks out as the worst one I can remember. I was about 24, and I had been dating my current boyfriend for about a year and a half. He just started a new job and was working night shift, so he promised to come to my work and take me out to lunch that day. Being the slacker that he was, he was late--over an hour late--and I knew he was late on purpose, hoping that I would give up on him and go on to lunch and then he could get out of taking me out. He brought me some stupid stuffed animal as a gift. I was so mad at him that all I remember was that we ate in silence (because I did wait on him to take me to lunch, he was not getting out of it!), and I could not wait for my lunch hour to be over. That night, my best friend came over and we hung out and drank and trashed my boyfriend. He and I broke up within a couple of weeks.

I have two actually. The V-Day of '03 I decided that I was going to make up a basket for this guy I had been seeing for about 8 months and include a condom in it to let him know I was ready.

He seen it, and I gave him my veginity......about an hour later he informs me that he needs to leave to go meet some friends to hang out, I asked if I could go and he said no it was just going to be guys and that I would feel out of place.

I felt horrible! I talked to him about two weeks after and he broke it off...I found out about a month later he was engaged to be married to a girl he called a skank to me.

The next one was the V-Day of '05. Mine and Shane's first V-Day. We made the mistake of sitting up a friend of his and a friend of mine on a blind date to take with us to dinner.

Shane's friend is a tall, husky, very good looking man. My friend on the other hand seen that he was "big" and did not want anything to do with him. Shane and I decdied to call the date off, dropped her off, and then we went onto his house. We fought the whole night bc he blamed me for having a shalow friend. Still to this day he don't understand that it was not my fault that she was so vendictive.

Mine was 2 years ago, I wanted to celebrate v-day with my hubby, like go out to dinner something nice, well instead he invited his stupid guy friends over to drink and play video games, I was stuck upstairs bored out of my mind, watching a movie alone.. they had a bbq, I didn't eat I was to pissed. Well I ended up crying that night because my husband didn't even seem to care it was V-day, his attention was more focused on games and friends that day. He eventually apologized, he didn't know he was being an ass...uggg

It is still in my journal here. Valentines day, 2002. Ian was six days old. I had a two year old and a one year old at home and was going through some severe post partum depression. George had promised to be home that night ( working restaurant) and his BOSS called to ask me if he could work a double. OK not ask really because no matter how much I said no, or cried, he still worked that double. He would not have goten fired had he not worked, but George felt he would be letting THEM down if he came home to his wife, two toddlers and newborn baby for Valentines day. The memory still causes me to cry I was so hurt.

I tend to block out unpleasant memories. It's a coping mechanism I have had since really really young.

But something that sticks out ... being nine months pregnant on Valentine's Day. Yup, nine full months because that was Angela's due date. Smart puppy didn't stay too much longer, though.

Um, I was in the hospital last year on Valentine's Day which really really sucked!! I think that is as bad as it gets. I hope to never ever spend V Day like that ever again.
