when they mispronounce something?
There are some things that I will let go and others that I just can't. With Gracie, who is only 21 months, I won't correct her but when I speak to her I will use the correct word. She went through this stage where she added "y"s to the end of words like cuppy and huggy and I couldn't stand it. So while I didn't make a huge deal of her using them, I always replied with the correct word.
Haley is my worst though... and she gets the most upset about it. Tonight she was talking about making jewelry but was using a word more like jury and it honestly was driving me nuts so I corrected her. She got really offended and yelled at me for wanting her to be perfect. I tried to explain that I don't expect her to be perfect but I do want her to be educated and to sound educated. Is it not better to have your mom tell you that you are mispronouncing something than a peer who might make fun of you?
