Having the hardest time with Zach's birthday

My son is going to be 7 next month and I cannot come up with any good birthday gift ideas for him. Well I've come up with a few but no toys. I don't want to junk up his birthday with a bunch of toys but at the same time, how dissappointing would it be for him not to open any?
The problem is that he bores quickly with most of his toys yet will attach himself to the weirdest things.
This boy has giant remote control cars, a Roboreptile, the coolest spiderman laptop, Nerf guns... but they all sit in a toybox. The toys he is really attached to are all Happy Meal toys or along those lines.

So this is the list of what I have gotten him BUT I need some ideas for a few cool toys
Sleeping Bag
Book Bag, trapper, & Matching clip on lunchbox
TMNT Movie
A pirate wall hanging for his room (It's so cool... it looks like a big sword with a pirate's flag hanging from it)
"Pirate" Spy glass... I found this on lilianvernon.com ... It's brass and leather wrapped and comes in a little wooden box with his initials engraved on it. I think he will like this most of all.

I wish I knew with Will I got him books and sports stuff it was a hard year to be able to buy for him cause he couldnt decide. The pirate hanging sounds really cool.

I think the things you got sound pretty cool.
I'm just glad I have girls - they are pretty easy. I have a hard time when we have to buy for boys.

Does he like Transformers? Those seem to be very popular with boys right now.

What about Legos? I know the sets can be expensive, but you can get a bucket of them for like $20 and then he could build anything he can imagine. Drew has been playing with them since he was 3 - 10 years and he STILL loves those things.

He does like legos and had a million at one time... however, he can't seem to pick them up and then Gracie ends up with them in her mouth. I call them vacuum cleaner food.

If he likes the mcdonalds toys best, what about a set of figurines? like hockey player or GI Joe or something... i'm not sure on the age, but Logan loves his hockey players and will play for hours doing pretend hockey games

I know what you mean!! And have you ever stepped on one of those littel buggers inyour bare feet? OUCH!

The solution for that? I made Drew play with them on a blanket, Then all I had to do was scoop up the blanket and dump them in the container. Yeah, a really BIG container. Drew has 5 rubbermaid containers FULL of Lego stuff, although2 of them are dedicted to big pieces (like the green boards) and his Bionicles.

Good ideas Liz! Haley had this really cool bug vaccuum once that would suck the bug up and then trap it in a chamber with a maginfying glass on one end. It was pretty neat.

I picked up a football (with a pirate skull on it of course) and a dinosaur painting kit while I was out last weekend. I still plan to get him a game for his DS too. I'm down a few gifts though because he had a couple sleepovers to go to and I couldn't hold back the sleeping bag. I also decided to use the wall hanging as a decoration at his party... so while he'll still get it afterwards, he won't be opening it as a gift.
