Swim Suits

Oh, it's that time of year again... starting to think about swim suits for the kids. I KNOW Haley and Brenna won't fit theirs' from last year. I think I can get by on Zach's.
Haley, I know will want a 2 piece which I have been fine with in the past HOWEVER, she is physically maturing yet still a young girl and I don't feel comfortable with her wearing one. I like a one piece on Brenna as well but more out of personal preference than anything else.
At what age do you think bikinis are appropriate and which do you personally prefer?

Re: Swim Suits

I had a bikini for Alyssa when she was little and SHE hated it. SO I guess I am lucky that my girls prefer one piece. (for now anyway )

Personally I don't care at what age the girls wear bikinis as long as they aren't string bikinis and they aren't hanging out with the boys alone. So If theya re going to wear it where I can keep an ye on them then it's fine by me. (However if it was up to dad te would never wear one )

Re: Swim Suits

There's enough variety of bikinis now you should be able to find one with enough coverage that she will still like.

The bandana type are really cute where the top comes down into a v onto the torse and then you could go with a boyshort bottom this way she still well be covered. Just no low rise bottoms that would be my rule.

Re: Swim Suits

DH won't let Kiera wear a two piece anymore. She wore one her first couple of years but only because I bought them before I knew how he felt. Personally I don't have a problem with a tasteful two piece.

Re: Swim Suits

The girls wear two pieces, to include Tessa.... But I pick them out, so she gets the boy shorts, and the tankini style tops, so it may as well be a one piece. I understand what you mean about developing... Tessa needs a sports bra pretty much all the time now, and she's so young I worry that people will think she is older between her height, and her developing chest. I prefer them, as long as they are covered.... easier to use the bathroom

Re: Swim Suits

Ally usually gets 2 suits each year - I buy her one and so does my MIL. What she gets depends on what we see. She likes both kids, but I prefer the tankini on her. It just looks better than a regular bikini. But she also klike one pieces, so we will just have to see what is out there this year.
