I was just curious about this because of something that happened recently.

What do your kids know/think about God?

Re: What do your kids know about God?

I just asked PJ to tell me about God and she said that God made her and He loves her.

They have religion class every day. This year they are teaching the children that God made everyone, loves everyone, and that we should love and be kind to everyone. It is the basics, but they are only 4 and 5 year olds.

We Bible study with Aaron every day so I hope the information is sticking. He knows God is the Father and He loves everyone, even "naughty guys." I asked him what Jesus came to Earth for and he said, "To save people." I hugged him to pieces for that one.

Re: What do your kids know about God?

We attend church regularly, and Emily's preschool is parochial, and we talk a lot about God. Emily has experienced a lot of loss in her young life, so she understands a lot. She knows that God and Jesus are in heaven, as are her Papa, her Grandpa Harry, and her Mimi. She knows God made her and that God and Jesus love her. She knows that Jesus died on the cross for us. She also says that God lives not only in heaven, but in our hearts and he is always with us. She will also tell you that God put her in my tummy.

I am terrible. We don't really talk about it, unless someone dies. I am on a quest to find a church that I am happy with and to get the boys into bible school and such. I think they need it.

Re: What do your kids know about God?

Zachariah goes to Sunday school and beginner's church every Sunday morning and King's Kids (club for 4 and 5 year olds) Sunday night befor servie and he's also at church with us on Wed. With all of that he has a basic understanding...."They tied Jesus up and took his clothes. Then he died on the tree. He came down, was buried and came back up and lives in Heaven". He tells us Jesus loves him and he loves Jesus. He also knows that Jesus is God but also his son. I'm amazed he can grasp that but he seems to just take it on faith.

Each week he also comes home with stories to tell us from the Bible--Enoch (He walked with God), Noah (he was a good man), Jacob, Abraham, etc. Last week was "Abraham Lincoln" but with no beard. Mike and I were trying not to laugh because Zach was so serious.

Re: What do your kids know about God?

Logan knows that God is in his heart and the Jesus loves him. We don't talk about it much around the house and we don't attend an organized church or anything

however, Logans daycare provider has very strong beliefs and supplies us with lots of books and music and talks about the bible and stuff a ton.

Re: What do your kids know about God?

My children all know alot about God due to going to church, Sunday School and our own devotions at home. They do ask questions sometimes and we try to answer them on a level they understnad.

Re: What do your kids know about God?

Alexis and Devin know quite a bit. They both attend Sunday School every week and both have attended Church Preschool. Alexis, of course, knows a little more.... But together they know that Jesus loves them, that he died on the cross, about noah's ark, jonah, that Jesus protects them, and that prayer is very important. (they know more but thats the generals...) Kaylee is young but she does know there is Jesus and she loves to pray.
