update on Acey's bottle problem

She didnt have a bottle all day yesterday..and I must say..I think it has been harder on me..lol. She only drank about 1/4 of a cup of milk compared to 3 8oz bottles that she normally took. She is not real happy with the sippy..she takes a small drink and then puts it down..beats throwing it though!

Keep up the good work, Mom! Pretty soon, she will be using the sippy like a champ and this will be a distant memory!

Well we are on day 3 and last night was horrible! She is waking in the middle of the night and I tried to give her some milk from a sippy and she wanted NOTHING to do with it! She finally fell back asleep. I am putting the bottles up today and am going to sell them soon. It has still been really hard on me...I dont want my baby to grow up! She is dying to have a bottle and you can tell by the look on her face that she is wondering why mommy took her bottle away. She still isnt drinking much milk...I have tried to put it in different sippy..NOTHING! I know I cant turn back now since it is day 3...it will get better after this right? She was drinking out of sippy's before..water only so it's not like she doesnt know how..she just doesnt like milk in sippy's..at all!!! I know I sound STUPID!!

You don't sound stupid at all. I only took Gracie's bottle away this past February and it was hard! Sleeping was so hard for her and I knew that she didn't understand why she couldn't have it and it just broke my heart. We got through it though and it was after only 4 or 5 days that she stopped asking for it and only a couple weeks before she didn't mention it at all.
Of course, not I have to figure out how to get her to stop wanting to go to sleep with a sippy cup.

Consistancy is the best way to go. In a month you will have forgotten all about the struggles and so will she.

Thanks Elaine..I figured I was the only one with a broken heart. I hate it when she looks at me and goes to the fridg..I know exactly what she is wanting and she just begs me! I am tryin to remain strong...JEEZ who would have ever thought after having 3 the 4th would be the hardest! Guess since she is our last?!?!! Sometimes it feels like I am starting all over with her..like I am a first time mom who doesnt know a thing..lol..guess cause she is a girl, everyone told me they are different..how right they are!

My girls have always preferred a straw to the sippies. Maybe a straw cup would be more acceptable to her. I don't know how old she is though. to you both.
