Remodeling question

Jack and I are in the beginning stages of planning to update our kitchen. My hope is to replace the lower cabinets ( keeping the structure ) with drawers. New countertop, and reface the upper cabinets. MAYBE redo floor with slate tile, but not sure about that yet. My ? is do cabinets first and then countertop, or vice versa ?

I did the samething, replaced the lower cabinets with drawers about 6 years ago. I ordered all my cabinets from home depot as well as the counter top. It was several week if not a month or so after the cabinets were installed before the contractor installed the countertop.

You will need to install the cabinets first and then they will create a template of the top to cut the counter. My suggestions with little ones is to make sure all the corners of the counters are rounded not square JMO

My sister and bil are in the middle of having their kitchen redone. They put the new tile down first. Then they are going to get cabinets installed within the next week or two. It would have been put in sooner but the person from the place they got them from ordered the wrong kind of cabinets. (He actually got fired because he messed up several orders). So they had to re-order the correct cabinets. Then when they are installed they'll have the granite countertops and kitchen sink installed.
