WOO HOO !!! Thanks Heather

My OB/GYN did act like I was over reacting a little ........

Hey , I have a question, if you don't mind....
When I went for the check up and to get the prenatals they took 2 vials of blood , when I called for the results they told me that I was immune to Rubella and I was a type o+ , did that really take 2 vials of blood , or does anybody know what else they test for ?? Just curious

more than likely they would have tested you for a STD. and HIV.
It's so good you went to your dentist, they wouldn't see me for anything but a cleaning and Ihave been living with a cavity for three yrs. ( I have been pregnant for 3 out of the last four)

When I started going to my RE, they took so much blood that when I got up I was light headed! They lined the vials up, and they went from my wrist to my elbow, a good 8 or 9 vials.

Oh wait, this is about you, not me.

I'm going to disagree with Shona. (Sorry Shona, you know I love you VERY much!)
One vial of blood for each test because it is a diffrent machine that is used for each test they perform.
One vial of blood went in one direction to check for Rubella immunity, and the other vial went the other way to check your blood type. Those two vials of blood may not have been in the same room for very long. To avoid confusion, they take one vial for each test. Especially if it was sent out to a lab.

I get seperate vials of blood taken for each test and my RE's, and they have a lab in the office.

Don't know about the USA but in NZ and OZ every suspected pg Mum is tested for a whole range of STD's, so I think you are both right

Kris I wish you the best of luck and hope to hear good news really soon

And I don't think you can over-react in this situation. Over stress yes but you seem to be doing all the right things and that is So good. I think Dr's get to used to women who don't plan and who say "oh no' when told they are expectant mothers, instead of "He11 yeah" so don't let your OB/GYN bring you down, this is your TTC experience and you go girl

ONE VIATL PER TEST ?!?!?!?!?
I don't think I have that much blood !! I am a very short woman ya know !! Maybe they can take it all out of my butt and make it smaller

My OB/GYN is a REALLY nice guy. I kept on him my last appointment to the point where he said "Don't come back till you are pregnant or due for your next exam...." but he was really nice about it

I was worried to cause my husband was adopted and we have NO family medical history for him at all......
