Who are you going to vote for? Why?

Re: Obama vs McCain

McCain. He's not my first choice, but he beats Obama hands down. At least, I don't think he'll cut funds to the VA which is my big concern. Plus I just think he's a lot smarter, more competant, and more experienced than Obama. And I just like him better. His wife is a beer baron which an interesting bonus.

Re: Obama vs McCain

Right now if I had to vote today. I have no idea. I'm not a big fan of either of them.

Re: Obama vs McCain

I'm not majorly impressed with any of the candidates, however I'll probably end up voting for McCain since his beliefs/morals are a little closer to what I believe in. Plus he does have more experience in politics. I'm a bit worried about his age and health so whoever gets into the VP position better know what they are doing in case something happens to him.

Re: Obama vs McCain

I don't really like either one. But if those are the two on the ticket, McCain.

Re: Obama vs McCain

Same here with McCain but he's not my ideal candidate.

Re: Obama vs McCain

Obama and Clinton are turds...definitely vote for McCain.

McCain by default.

it is going to be an interesting year i guess eh?

Re: Obama vs McCain

My guy didn't make it to the final ballot, either, so I'm going to do a 'write-in' vote - Ron Paul. I don't like any of the other options, so I might as well vote my conscience.

Have not yet made up my mind.

Re: Obama vs McCain

I thoroughly believe in Obama. I have been planning on voting for him since last year. I believe he has what we need to turn this country around.

Re: Obama vs McCain

McCain. I just don't think Obama just doesn't have the experience to be president. And I wouldn't vote for Hilary if you paid me (I hate that woman).

McCain wouldn't be my first choice, but he's better than the alternatives, IMO. Frankly, I'm not overly impressed with any of the front runners this time around.

Re: Obama vs McCain

Better than last time though, eh? I always thought I would always vote for the Democratic contender. Until Obama.

Re: Obama vs McCain

I am not a Republican, but I do occassionally vote for one. I wanted to vote for Hillary, but the Democratic Party seems determined to hand the election over to Obama no matter what. I appauled her for staying in the race to the bitter end.

I read some very concerning articles about Obama in Politico and the Christian Science Monitor. I believe he will screw the vets. I don't think he has any solid ideas other than spouting the word "change" all the time. Plus I am very concerned about his feelings towards whites, the poor, the military and veterans. Not to mention, his remarks about America and his lack of political experience.

I'm not in love with McCain either, but at least I feel he is for veterans, the military, everyone (not just his "special" people) and America. I don't like him that much. but as I said he's a whole lot better than Obama. I don't think the midEast situation will get any worse under him. After reading in that article in the Christian Science Monitor, I am very concerned about the MidEast sitation under OBama.

Re: Obama vs McCain

Very sad.

I still like my current President. Do I think McCain will do as well as him. NO. But I will still support him.

I agree! My original choice was Mike Huckabee, but I do like McCain.

No, in all "grown up ed ness", neither Obama or Clinton would/could do this country ANY justice.
I totally agree, Liz!

Also, Cheryl, don't worry too much about McCain's age. Remember, his mom is 96 and still going strong by all accounts.

Re: Obama vs McCain

McCain's alright. I voted for him for senator when I lived in Arizona. Age doesn't matter to me. After all, I voted for Robert Bryd and he's 90! If he goes up for election again, I'll vote for him again.

I really don't want big money to win this election. Clinton's donors are all small time givers. McCain has earned the least of all three candidates. But Obama has a lot of big money supporting him.

Wow, that was a really intriguing article. It's the first time I've heard an argument on those points. Thanks for posting it.

btw, I'm voting for McCain, too. I'm really curious to see who he picks for his VP

Re: Obama vs McCain

Lenora, that was a very enlightening article. Can't say I'm surprised by any of it, tho.

Re: Obama vs McCain

Obama. I don't think he is as qualified as Hillary, but I want a Democrat in office.

I know. Poor guy, nobody really wants him, he's just somewhat better than the alternative.

That's who I wanted originally, then decided to vote for Mitt Romney (as Huckabee wasn't really electable in FL) so McCain wouldn't win, but he did anyway.
