No sleep for me this week!

and its pretty much been like this all week.. actually since Ive been pregnant with Destiny. I know this sounds wierd... but usually its one week out of the whole month.. so it happens to be when im on my monthly.. My lil girl doesnt sleep at night!! For that whole week.. (this week) she would wake up around midnite or before 2 and stay up till its resttime the next day. seriously. now i do childcare at home and sometimes this can be hard for me. Like yesterday it was 630 and it litterally felt like it was 930 or something. i was sooooo extremely tired.

so i have spoken to her ped. she tells me thats the funniest thing shes heard. WTF?! i was like whatever... she did tell me to do the warm bath, get her rountine right, tired her out before bed etc you name it, ive done it.

so this morning i woke up at 1 with Destiny next to my bed playing with my cellphone. i jumped on that one thinking she is probarly crank calling someone. its now going to be 500 am and so here i am.

Is anyone going through this?? It is the time of the month for me and that isnt helping it either, in fact lately ive been feeling more tired when i am on it.

Re: No sleep for me this week!

That does sound really weird! But i'll join you in the no-sleep for last night anyways... Nate is sick and very whiny and didn't sleep more than 1/2 hour at a time last night, so I got very little sleep.

Re: No sleep for me this week!

Ally has always been like this. At 7 she still gets up several times a week. Who knows what wakes her up, but then she comes downstairs and wakes me. I've tried putting her back to bed, warm milk, stories, everything. heck, her pediatrician and I even did the Benadryl, Dimetapp, etc thing. Nope - none of it makes her sleepy. They only thing that has ever worked (and I use it sparingly) is Melatonin. Even then, it takes 6 pills to get her to sleep. I'll only use it if I am desperate. Normally, I just let he crawl into bed with us. It's the only way I can get any sleep.

Bright side - it's getting better as she gets older. Used to be every night, now it's 2-3 nights a week.

Re: No sleep for me this week!

My oldest dd just started sleeping a reasonable amount of time everyday since she was born. It was five sleepless years. Nothing worked. Her occupational therapist loaned us a cd for her and special headphones. I cannot reccomend this method because it will not for sure work for you and it is extremely expensive. We could not afford it if the OT had not loaned us the set. The cd alone is over $35.

I cannot offer you anything more than a shoulder to cry on. My dd is a notorious non sleeper.
