Why they call it breastfeeding when you use both? Shouldn't it be breasts feeding? I'm in a weird mood today. Just thought I'd share it.

Greg always asked me the same thing about foot prints, one foot, two feet, therefore more than one foot print should be "feet prints" how do you argue with a two year old when they are right

Re: Have you ever wondered???

Isn't Breast one of those words that can be used singular or plural....like "sheep" or "fish". We don't (at least in proper English grammar) say "sheeps and fishs"
When you buy chicken in a pack you don't by chicken breasts...you buy chicken breast or breast halves... I thought breast referred to the whole unit...a single breast is a boob...

As for the feet thing...well if you look at it ,each print is a single foot, so it would be a foot print...if you have more then one print it would be prints...now if the print is of both feet attached then it would be a feet print....and probably and face or butt print as well since if you try to do that one you probably wouldn't remain upright.

Re: Have you ever wondered???

The plural of breast is breasts. I looked it up: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/breast

One bosom. Two breasts. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bosom

So the sentence, "she has cancer in both breasts," is correct. The ending s is just difficult to pronounce, but it is there.

The sentence "she has a big bosom" is also, correct. So the proper term should be bosom feeding.
