Which do you prefer? Butter or margerine? low fat? Low salt? Fat free? Added calicum? I am making this one multiple option. I know butter/magerine is complicated.
I usually get Country Crock with added A, D and Calicum. I have tried the fat free margerines, but they seem to seperate when you saute with them. Or at least they used to. I haven't tried the fat free varieties in awhile. They may have improved.
Depends on what I'm doing with it. DH is a butter guy, but we never had butter growing up. So, I get margarine out of habit. So we normally have both around. I like Country crock for most things. But we do saute with butter.
For everyday use, we get Country Crock with calcium. But I do buy butter for actual baking during the holidays - the rest of the time we use what is on hand.
I use butter because it tastes better and it's more natural. Even if I have to watch how much I eat because of the fat content, I'd rather go natural. And the partially hydrogenated oil freaks me out.
I use butter for baking and cooking ... Mac & Cheese takes really funky with margarine. However, I use Country crock for things like buttering toast ... spreads so much easier!
