Coach appreication?

Baseball season is winding down and I would like to do something for the coaches. I thought maybe a card or a small gift for the head coach. They have done a great job with the kids this year. We've only had one pretty good bruise and that's excellent for 17 little kids playing ball. Is there a custom here? I know a lot of teams thank the sponsor, but they only give money. The coaches dedicate a lot of their time to the kids and the sport.

Re: Coach appreication?

In all the teams we've been on, the team mom gathers money and gets the coach a gift. Usually it's a gift card to a restaurant or a sports store...

Re: Coach appreication?

When I coached Drew's soccer team, we got a plaque with a pic of us and the kids. The team parents got together and gave Rick and I (since he was the assistant coach) a $50 GC to a restuarant. It was really appreciated! A nice dinner out is something you don't get a whole lot when you have kids, so we really enjoyed it.

They gave him a plaque and a baseball the team sighed. I don't really know if the other parents did anything or not. I helped Kate make him a card. Dh said he would like that more than a store bought card. She was the only kid who did.
